With each new season comes an opportunity to refresh our spaces and create more style, beauty, and functionality in our homes. With that in mind, I’ve been taking a look at the spring into summer 2024 home decor trends and design styles to share with you.
Before we get into the top interior design trends for spring and summer 2024, please keep in mind there are no set rules for decorating your home.
However, keeping up with current decorating trends and design styles helps make the decision process much easier when you’re selecting new items for your home.

What are the top spring home decorating trends for 2024?
Several interior design trends are coming to the forefront for spring and summer 2024, including neutral color palettes, curved and rounded furniture styles, timeless kitchen design, quiet luxury, organic modern decor, modern coastal influences, and more.

Spring and Summer 2024 Home Decor Trends and Designer Inspiration
1. A neutral color palette
Tying in with many of the other home trends you’ll see on this list, a neutral color palette will dominate in spring into summer 2024.
Based on calming neutrals, a warm aesthetic brings a comforting, grounded feeling to our homes that will resonate with our lifestyles in 2024 and beyond.
Warm beiges, browns, camels, and cream colors will be evident in spring, summer, and fall 2024 interiors.
For a timeless look, I love soft neutral tones, as they promote a calm, elevated feeling in any space.
However, a warm color palette doesn’t have to mean all-brown everything.
Earth tones and nature-inspired hues like muted greens and blues will also be popular in spring and summer 2024 interiors, from wall colors to kitchen cabinetry to textiles.
See my post, Color of the Year 2024 + Top Home Color Trends, for more info on the current color trends.
2. Organic modern decor
Organic modern style (also called modern organic style) is a look based on a warm color palette and the incorporation of textures and natural elements.

While the organic modern aesthetic has been trending for the past few years, it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.
And, with its emphasis on a neutral color palette and bringing nature indoors, it’s an especially popular style for spring and summer decorating.
A modern organic space typically incorporates the colors and textures of nature, including natural wood furniture, baskets, natural fiber rugs, woven elements, and easy-care textiles like cotton and linen.
In an organic modern living space, you’ll often see curved furniture, a color palette inspired by nature, and organic elements – all of which convey a relaxed approach to living and decorating.
For the last few years, interior designers have promoted organic modern spaces as a way to create a calming aesthetic in the home, and this trend is resonating more than ever 2024.
For an organic modern look, I suggest beginning with a background of white walls and adding in furniture, decor, and window coverings in fabrics like cotton and linen in soft neutral hues.

Then, layer in some natural materials, including lots of baskets, light woods, and lovely textures through rugs, throw pillows, and throw blankets.
For ideas and inspiration, you might want to take a look at sites like McGee & Co., Lulu and Georgia, Serena & Lily, Dear Keaton, and Pottery Barn, all of which beautifully convey what organic modern decor is looking like for spring 2024.

3. Quiet Luxury
The quiet luxury interior design trend involves creating spaces that feel sumptuous, sophisticated, and timeless.
In a quiet luxury style space, you will typically find neutral hues, natural fabrics, warm woods, and other elements that reflect a relaxed, pared-back, elevated way of living and decorating.

The key to a quiet luxury style space is mastering the mix of timeless and modern, creating a space that’s equally welcoming and sophisticated, incorporating natural elements, layered fabrics, and textures.
from my post Restoration Hardware Style: How to Get the Look in Your Home
You can easily add luxurious touches to your home through thoughtful details such as wallpaper, soft throw blankets, scented candles, ambient lighting, and color palettes to create the mood you’re going for.
A quiet luxury style living room will often be filled with warmth, collected accents, plush seating, soft rugs, layered lighting, and pillows and throws in linen, cotton, or velvet.
A luxurious space doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive — the quiet luxury trend is more about refinement and an appreciation for living well.
As we continue to rethink how we use our spaces, designing them around maximum comfort and functionality, our homes are becoming calming, resort-like spaces where we can relax, recharge, and restore.
In spring 2024 and beyond we’ll see bedroom trends incorporating luxurious bedding (soft linen bedding is very popular right now), elegant upholstered headboards, and dedicated spaces for relaxing, yoga, or meditation.
The quiet luxury trend reflects a calm, approachable simplicity, making it the perfect decorating style for spring 2024 and beyond.
See my post on Quiet Luxury Style to learn more about this spring interior design trend.
4. Palm Royale / Palm Beach Style
Thanks to the popular Apple TV series Palm Royale, Palm Beach style is making a major comeback in the world of interior design for summer 2024.
Inspired by the luxurious and glamorous lifestyle of Palm Beach, this trend is all about bringing the timeless allure of sun-kissed shores and palm-fringed paradises to your home.
Featuring crisp whites, bold pops of color, lush tropical prints, and of course plenty of rattan and bamboo accents, Palm Beach style is perfect for spring and summer decorating.
From statement chandeliers to plush velvet sofas in vibrant hues, Palm Beach style is all about embracing chic opulence with a laid-back, lighthearted twist.
When I was growing up, my aunt and uncle’s house was decorated in this style, and I absolutely loved visiting them — their home always felt like a vibrant and happy place.
With its mix of old-school glamour and modern sophistication, the Palm Beach look is a wonderful way to bring fresh, breezy style to your indoor and outdoor spaces.
If you’d like to add a touch of colorful coastal charm to your home, you might want to give the Palm Royale trend a try!
5. Curves and rounded shapes
In spring and summer 2024, we’re still seeing an abundance of curvy, rounded furniture; curved backs on chairs; sloped arms on sofas; rounded waterfall corners on countertops, desks, and consoles; cushy ottomans; and curved accent pieces.

However, don’t feel like you have to go all out with arches and curves if you’re unsure about this curvy aesthetic. There are simpler ways to bring this design trend to your home — perhaps through a curved mirror or lamp.

Curves and arches can lend instant personality to every style of home, bringing a sense of softness and femininity to any space.
Curves and rounded furniture and accent pieces can bring a trendy and youthful look to a space — or add a stylish and elegant touch — depending on how they’re used.
We’ll also see an abundance of curved architectural elements in 2024, including arched doorways, curved bar designs and curved kitchen cabinets and countertops.

This stylish kitchen from Studio McGee is a great example of spring home trends.
Calming, light and airy, with sleek modern light fixtures and natural elements via plants, warm woods, and curved rattan barstools, this kitchen is both timeless and on trend.
Places like Arhaus, Lulu and Georgia, Crate and Barrel, and Anthropologie are great sources for curved furniture and accent pieces.
6. Bringing nature indoors
With the advent of spring, an appreciation for plants (i.e., biophilic interior design) and natural materials always comes to the forefront of home decor.

Greenhouses and conservatories will continue to trend through summer 2024, whether that involves adding a plant-filled spot in a sunny corner of your home, a full-blown outdoor greenhouse or she-shed, or a simple garden-inspired space decorated with verdant wallpaper and/or textiles.
7. Modern coastal style
With its light and airy aesthetic, modern coastal style is big this year and, along with the Palm Royale trend mentioned above, is influencing 2024 spring home decor trends.

Last year, Arhaus released an expansive new coastal furniture and decor collection, joining Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn, both of which launched new contemporary coastal home collections last year.
Incorporating a mix of fresh modern coastal and Hamptons style interiors inspired by Nancy Meyers movies, coastal modern style embraces a relaxed, elevated lifestyle — even if you don’t live near the coast.
In coastal modern interiors, you’ll see plenty of easy-care white slipcovered furniture, neutral hues of the sand and sea, and natural and organic elements — all of which speak to a relaxed, more intentional way of living and decorating.
It’s probably no surprise I love the coastal look, and you’ll see touches of modern coastal style throughout our home.

8. Spring and summer stripes
One easy way to bring fresh coastal style to your home is by adding in some stripes, a classic spring and summer trend that will never go out of style.
Whether you’re decorating a living room, bedroom, or any other space, adding striped pillows, throws, rugs, or bedding will infuse a timeless style and appeal to your home for spring 2024 and beyond.

9. Backyard oases
Brandon Architects – Patterson Custom Homes
For spring into summer 2024, homeowners are creating their own private backyard oases, with enclosed patios, privacy fences, and luxuriously-decorated patios and pool areas.
The back yard and patio are becoming summer staycation destinations, complete with outdoor fireplaces and/or fire pits, swimming pools, TVs, outdoor kitchens, and raised-bed gardening.
A gas fireplace is the perfect focal point for an outdoor gathering spot next to the swimming pool.

10. Home color trends for spring and summer 2024
Tying in with all the home trends on this list, a nature-inspired palette of soothing earth tones will take center stage for spring and summer 2024.
Since natural color schemes reduce stress and generally make us happier, these colors tie in beautifully with the rest of the trends on this list.
If you saw my post on the Top Home Color Trends for 2024, you know warm neutrals and nature-inspired colors are on almost everyone’s “Colors of the Year” list.
Neutrals and earth tones work well with all other hues, bringing a lightness and reassuring quality to our homes that will resonate throughout spring and summer 2024 and beyond.
Incorporating the 2024 spring home decor trends in your home can be easy. Simply adding just one or two new elements can give your home an entirely new look – whether it’s a curved accent piece or a few new pillows in the bedroom.
