If you’re planning a living room refresh in 2026 or simply gathering inspiration for a future project, today’s post is for you!
I love changing the look of our living room for each new season or year — to me, there’s something so satisfying about moving the furniture around, changing pillow covers, bringing in a different rug, or re-styling the coffee table.

2026 Living Room Trends
In 2026, we’re seeing plenty of luxurious looks, sumptuous fabrics, warm neutral color palettes, and understated elegance — and these themes are evident throughout all interior design styles.

Some of the top living room trends for 2026 include:
- a warm color palette

- curved furniture silhouettes and natural stone surfaces
- luxurious details
- an updated version of modern farmhouse style
A rich color palette
Tying in with many of the other trends you’ll see this year, a rich, warm color palette will continue to be popular in 2026.
Ali Henrie Design – Lindsay Salazar Photography
This beautiful home aesthetic brings a comforting, grounded feeling to the living room.
Chocolate brown, deep burgundy, navy blue, saturated green, and other warm earth tones will continue to be popular in 2026.
For an on-trend look, consider incorporating one or more of these colors in the living room via feature walls, pillows, throws, rugs, and even large pieces of furniture like sofas and arm chairs.
For more on 2026 color trends, see my post, 2026 Colors of the Year & Top Home Color Trends.
Curvy and textured furniture
In living room furniture trends for 2026, we’ll continue to see plenty of curvy shapes and textured fabrics, as well as the use of rattan, cane, warm woods, and stone finishes.
Amber Interiors – coffee table
While curvy furniture is still very much on trend, many interior designers are also favoring more streamlined, classic furniture silhouettes.
If you’re buying a large piece of furniture like a sofa, you might opt for timeless fabric options like linen, cotton, performance fabrics, or velvet, as the current popularity of nubby fabrics like boucle’ may wane in the next few years.
If you really love the look of boucle’ and sherpa, you can easily bring the look to your living room makeover via accent chairs, benches, throws, pillows, and ottomans.

Quiet luxury
The quiet luxury interior design trend brings a sumptuous, sophisticated, and timeless look to any space.
This beautiful living room design features a soft, neutral color palette and a minimal yet relaxed aesthetic.
This beautiful look would be perfect for a living room or bedroom reading corner.
A quiet luxury style living room might incorporate a warm color palette, collected accents, plush seating, soft rugs, layered lighting, and upholstery and pillows in luxurious fabrics like linen, cotton, or velvet.
If you’d like to add a few luxurious touches to your living room, consider bringing in some soft throw blankets and pillows in neutral tones and creating a sense of warmth via candles and ambient lighting.

A new take on modern farmhouse style
Ali Henrie Design – Lindsay Salazar Photography – coffee table
While modern farmhouse will still be popular in 2026, this design style continues to evolve, borrowing aspects from modern European, Belgian farmhouse, California casual, Scandinavian, and Mediterranean styles.
This new version of modern farmhouse style shows no signs of slowing down in the coming year — especially in the living room.
Pure Salt Interiors – coffee table
With the addition of luxurious textures, interesting shapes, organic elements, and a mixture of vintage and contemporary pieces, modern farmhouse style is a classic, timeless aesthetic we’ll be seeing for years to come.
