Coastal Cowgirl Interior Design: How to Bring the Modern Western Look to Your Home in 2024

Today I’m taking a look at the coastal cowgirl interior design trend and how to bring a touch of the coastal cowgirl aesthetic to your home in 2024.

If you’ve been following along for a while, you know how much I love modern coastal interiors.  So when I started seeing the coastal cowgirl style trend making its way into the world of home decor and interior design, I wanted to share this aesthetic with you.

What design style is coastal cowgirl?

I’m sure there are many different ways to define the coastal cowgirl aesthetic, but when I think of this look as it relates to home decor, coastal boho style comes to mind, as these spaces often incorporate lots of white with warm touches, organic elements, simplicity, and relaxed comfort.

Both coastal boho and coastal cowgirl rooms might include comfortable cotton and linen furniture, neutral hues, chunky knit throws and rugs, faded denim blues, leather accents, rustic wood furniture and beams, and an abundance of natural textural elements – anything that embodies a relaxed, comfortable way of living and decorating.

Coastal cowgirl style as it relates to home decor could be described as a mix of coastal grandmother, Ralph Lauren, modern coastal, California casual, and Nancy Meyers styles.

With an easy, relaxed feeling that doesn’t take itself too seriously, coastal cowgirl style lends itself beautifully to a comfortable, laidback approach to decorating — which I happen to love.

Coastal cowgirl decor elements

Here are some great ways to bring a touch of boho coastal or coastal cowgirl decor to your home:

• Wool, jute, or sisal rugs
• A neutral color palette of white, ivory, tan, brown, and faded denim blue
• Classic cashmere or cotton knit throws draped casually over sofas, chairs, and beds
• Chunky knit rugs, throws, and pillows
• Leather chairs, ottomans, pillows, and accent pieces
• Denim rugs, accents pieces, pillow covers, and furniture
• Cotton or linen slipcovers and bedding
• Warm wood coffee tables, side tables, beams, displayed cutting boards, and stacked wood next to the fireplace

• Mixed textures, via baskets, trays, and woven light fixtures
• Delicate patterns on pillow covers or wallpaper
