For spring and summer 2025 outdoor trends, homeowners are turning their outdoor areas, porches, and patios into luxurious staycation destinations.

Coastal Patio Ideas on a Budget

I’m all for saving money and decorating the back patio and outdoor spaces on a budget.

But when selecting affordable outdoor seating and other patio furniture, I recommend choosing well-made, neutral pieces that will last for several years.

Once your foundational outdoor pieces are in place, you can then layer in budget-friendly pillows, rugs, baskets, string lights, and decorative accessories — all of which can easily be updated when your style changes. 

If you’d like to decorate your back patio for less, this is a great time of year to shop for affordable outdoor pieces, as most major retailers are offering their best deals of the season right now.  

My favorite places to find affordable patio decor and furniture are Target, Walmart, Wayfair, and TJ Maxx.  

Our covered back patio was decorated with affordable pieces, but with the addition of some outdoor pillows, breezy curtains, and glowing string lights, it still feels like a cozy outdoor oasis.
