10 Simple Spring Decor Ideas for 2025
1. Liven things up with plants and flowers
Using greenery or fresh flowers to bring the outdoors in is one of the easiest ways to decorate your home for spring. I can’t think of a better way to brighten up a space than with beautiful plants and flowers.
Since we live in a location with four seasons, I try to keep plants in our home all year round. Right now I have about 15 plants to water every week, which keeps me busy!
2. Or, keep it simple with budding branches, dried or faux plants
Dried flowers, grasses, and branches are always a great option, too. Not only do they add a finished look to any space, they’re long-lasting, as well.
And, if you don’t have the time or inclination to take care of a bunch of plants, then faux is the way to go! I’m amazed at how beautiful faux plants and flowers are these days.
3. Decorate your mantel, shelves, and coffee table for spring
Updating the look of your home for spring can be as easy as styling the coffee table, accent tables, shelves, countertops, and mantel.

One of the reasons I love styling surfaces is that you can use items you already have on hand and just rearrange them in new ways for each season.
If you don’t like how something looks, you can easily change it by moving things around or bringing in new items from another part of the house.
Spring decor ideas and styling tips
- use stacks of books to raise objects off the surfaces (this was easy for me, because we have a lot of books!)
- combine items in groups of threes–preferably with a tall item, a shorter, more sculptural item, and a horizontal item
- edit — this is a tough one for me, because I tend to overdo–I’m learning to edit until I achieve a the right look for each space (although I still tend to go back and fiddle with things later)
- balance hard and soft objects, as well as things with different textures, colors, tones, and styles
- layer–placing some things in front of others and some off to the side–to create more depth and give the space a more natural look.
4. Update your bedding for spring
In spring 2025 we’ll see bedroom trends incorporating luxurious bedding, elegant upholstered headboards, and dedicated spaces for relaxing, yoga, or meditation.
I love using white bedding to make a bedroom seem lighter and brighter for spring and summer.
I especially love cotton or linen bedding for its soft, luxurious feel.
5. Rearrange the furniture
One of the easiest spring home updates is to rearrange your furniture. Sometimes I forget what a huge difference this simple adjustment can make, but it truly is transformative!
Not only does shifting the furniture change the look of a room, it can change how you live and feel in your space.

Rearranging the furniture only costs a few minutes of time (and maybe some sore muscles), but it can make you feel like you’re living in a brand new home.
6. Add a pop of spring color
Adding a touch of color in your home will make you feel like spring has sprung, no matter what the season.
After I painted this formerly black nightstand blue (with Valspar Indigo Streamer) it became the star of our entryway!
7. Pile on the pillows
One of the easiest ways to bring a fresh look to your couch, chairs, and beds is by adding new pillows — or simply rearranging the pillows you already own.

If your pillow collection has grown to the point where it’s taking up an embarrassing amount of space in a closet (like mine), you might want to start buying pillow covers and filling them with inserts from pillows you already own.
8. Elevate your space with artwork
Art has the ability to lift our spirits and transport us to another world, and any space can benefit from an instant spring refresh with a new piece of artwork.

9. Welcome the spring sun
By the end of winter, we need all the sunshine we can get, so you might want to think about changing your dark curtains to white or lighter-colored versions …
… or removing them altogether!
Another simple thing to do is raise your blinds to their highest positions during the day to let in the maximum amount of glorious sunshine.
In the same vein, think about tweaking your artificial lighting sources, too. Simply replacing old lampshades with new ones can give an entirely new look to a room.
Consider moving your current lamps around to different surfaces and different rooms for spring — you can even place small lamps where you might not normally think of using them, such as kitchen countertops, sideboards, and mantels.
10. Freshen up your front door
This is the perfect time of year to dress up your front door with a vibrant green boxwood wreath or something to herald springtime, like a beautiful door basket filled with fresh or faux flowers or greenery.
