Now that the new year is here my focus has shifted to one of my favorite holidays, Valentine’s Day. As the one day of the year set aside to celebrate love, Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to bring joy to those you love by creating a special Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Day celebration, complete with a beautifully decorated table.

Whether you’re planning a romantic dinner for two, a family celebration, or hosting a Galentine’s Day party or brunch with friends, any of the beautiful table ideas in this post will help you create a memorable and special celebration of the day of love.

Even though some of these Valentine’s Day table setting ideas look fancy, you can still use them as inspiration for your own table, using whatever you happen to have available. I always love setting the table with things I already have on hand because it encourages me to get creative and think outside the box.

Fresh or faux flowers, or even branches and greenery from the back yard, can make a lovely centerpiece. A mix of candles and candlesticks in all shapes and sizes are always a great idea when decorating the table.
And don’t forget about the beauty and simplicity of fresh fruit, as well! Placed on a pedestal, in a bowl, or sprinkled throughout your centerpiece or at each place setting, colorful fruit adds a beautiful touch to your table decor. I think orange fruits look especially beautiful when paired with pink and blush tones.
If you’d like to know how to set a dinner table, here’s a helpful graphic showing where to place your utensils, glasses, plates, and napkin.
And, if you happen to have some fancy china, stemware, or silverware tucked away, this is the perfect time to dust it off and enjoy it.
If not, flea markets are a great source for pretty plates and tea cups. I love the look of mismatched china in a tablescape — especially for Valentine’s Day!
