Are you hosting Christmas dinner or a holiday gathering this year? As you start to plan your menu and what you’ll wear, why not give some thought to how you’ll dress your table as well? By putting just a little thought and creativity into your Christmas table decorations, you can create a special and memorable experience for your friends and family this season.
Let these beautiful holiday table setting ideas inspire you and spark your creativity. Remember, you can create a beautiful and festive table without spending a lot of money. I think it’s fun to gather ideas from magazines, blogs, and Pinterest and then create something similar using items I already have on hand.
If your Christmas dinner will be casual and homey, then check out some of the simple and/or rustic tables featured below. On the other hand, if you’re hosting a more formal get-together, you’ll find plenty of inspiration for a fancier table, too.
As always, I suggest setting your table a few days beforehand, if you can. This makes entertaining so much easier, allowing you to relax and enjoy yourself. If you need more help with planning and hosting, check out my post with tips for hosting a casual dinner party.

This following Christmas place setting ideas are from my own Christmas tables, but I wanted to share them with you because I had fun making the little wreaths with fresh rosemary sprigs, floral wire, and kitchen twine. I then cut little banners out of white paper and added simple calligraphy names for each treasured guest.
And if you don’t want to go to the trouble of making little wreaths, a simple sprig of fresh evergreen, tied up with some ribbon, makes a pretty (and quick!) holiday place setting.
Here’s another Christmas tablescape I created featuring my favorite color combo, blue and white (which I planned around gingham napkins.)
