Lately there’s a chill in the air that tells me autumn is here. Before you know it, we’ll be talking about the holidays, so today I thought I’d share a few easy fall decorating ideas featuring one of my favorite fall decor accents, little white pumpkins.
When it comes to decorating for fall, white pumpkins are my go-to: they’re natural, easy to find, inexpensive, go with every decorating style, and — best of all — they don’t require you to change your home’s color scheme to include orange.
Trader Joe’s is a great source for little white pumpkins, although this year I found beautiful ones with long curvy stems at our local grocery store in the produce section.
When decorating your home for a new season, I recommend starting out by taking a stroll through your own back yard or neighboring fields.
There’s nothing simpler or more beautiful than bringing fresh branches and greenery in from the outdoors.
You can add fall branches and stems to pitchers and Mason jars, drape greenery on your mantel, use stems as a centerpiece for your fall table, feature autumn leaves in your entryway–the possibilities are endless!
Then, just add in a few white pumpkins, and voila! Your fall decorating is taken care of in the easiest, most natural way!
Another simple fall decor idea is to use fresh fruit (green apples and pears are beautiful and long-lasting), vegetables (artichokes are wonderful for decorating your kitchen counters for fall), and eucalyptus stems–especially seeded or silver dollar eucalyptus, if you can find it!
Natural elements, including anything made with wood, pair beautifully with little white pumpkins. Placing several white pumpkins in a rustic wood bowl, as I’ve done here, is an easy fall centerpiece idea.
I’ve also used white pumpkins, paired with faux succulents and moss, as part of my Thanksgiving tablescape:
