Hi friends! I’m so excited to join with a wonderful group of bloggers to share our welcoming fall tablescapes, front doors, and porches with you today!
As you know, hosting casual gatherings is one of my favorite things to do! It warms my heart to see our family and friends seated around the dinner table enjoying themselves. So creating festive fall tablescapes and a welcoming fall front porch is important to me.
Although I’ll mainly be sharing my fall tablescapes with you today, first I thought I’d share a couple of shots of our front door and porch dressed for fall.
The other day I ran to the grocery store looking for eucalyptus, but these beautiful peachy-orange roses called to me. At the time, I wasn’t sure what I’d do with them–I just knew I had to have them!
Once I got them home, I remembered I had this hanging basket stored away down in the basement, so I brought it upstairs, popped the roses in a bag filled with a bit of water, and placed the bag in the basket.
The entire process only took about 5 minutes, but I was so happy with the result! Those lovely roses graced our front door for several days.
Fall Front Porch
Once the roses gave out, I replaced them with this fall berry wreath, which should be a bit more long-lasting than the roses were!
This traditional fall look was inspired by our recent trip to Charleston, where I saw several porches adorned with black urns filled with beautiful “croton petra” plants.
Since I love the crisp combination of green and black, I decided to try to emulate the look here at home.
While we’re on the front porch, I thought I’d share a photo or two of my sitting area out here.
This spot is my favorite place to enjoy my first cup of coffee of the day. Since this area is hidden by a tree, I can even get away with coming out here in my pjs!
Fall Tablescapes
Now, on to fall tablescapes! When it comes to decorating the table, I love getting creative.
I usually haul out an assortment of place mats, dishes, stemware, candles and decorative items and play around with them until I find a look I like.
The tablescape above incorporated some pretty white hydrangeas I had on hand for a day or so.
I thought they looked lovely in this blue and white planter. Unfortunately, they didn’t last very long, so I only got one shot of them!
After my hydrangeas wilted, I decided to replace my centerpiece with something more long-lasting, so I added this faux eucalyptus garland.
I like how the velvety green garland looks against my blue linen table runner!
To keep my fall tablescape from looking too “match-y” (which is easy to do when almost everything you own is blue and white!), I used some teal plates and napkins to liven things up. For some reason, teal seems a little more fall-ish to me than other shades of blue.
To incorporate more of a fall vibe (and because real little white pumpkins were nowhere to be found), I sprinkled in some soft fabric pumpkins in shades of blue, cream, grey and dusty sage. I found these at the Dollar Spot at Target!
A few gold candle holders add a festive look. If we were having guests, I’d probably add some tapers, but for now I like how they look without anything in them!
These woven place mats are a favorite addition to my dining table in any season–but especially in Autumn! They add a bit of texture and a nice natural touch to the table.
The gold flatware is another year-round favorite of mine. Somehow, it always seems a little more festive than regular silverware.
My tablescapes usually change several times over the course of a season, so I hope you’ll check back soon, because I’ll have some new looks to share with you over the coming weeks!
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by, friends!
