The holidays are a magical time of year, and one of my favorite parts is decorating our home for the season. This year, I’m especially drawn to coastal Christmas decor — a look that blends seaside charm with holiday sparkle.
If you love the breezy, relaxed vibe of coastal style, why not carry that into your holiday decorating?

From beach-inspired Christmas trees to wreaths, mantels, and porches, I hope these coastal holiday decorating ideas will help you create a festive, welcoming home.

Coastal Christmas Decor Ideas for 2025
1. Set the scene with a coastal color palette
Start with a palette inspired by the sea: soft whites, sandy neutrals, and ocean blues, with accents of sea glass, aqua, and green.

Add shimmering touches of silver, champagne, or pearl for a festive glow.

The result is a look that feels serene, airy, and timeless — perfect for a holiday by the shore or simply bringing a touch of the beach to your home.

2. Coastal Christmas tree ideas
Your Christmas tree is the heart of your holiday decor, and a coastal twist makes it extra special.

Decorate with white and silver ornaments and glass baubles for an elegant look.

Or, add linen or burlap ribbon — and perhaps a woven tree collar — for a natural, textural element.

For the topper, try a driftwood or shell-covered star for a soft, organic finish.

If you prefer a more subtle nod to coastal style, mix in a few coastal accents among your classic ornaments (this is the approach I tend to prefer).
3. A coastal Christmas mantel or shelf display
The mantel (or a favorite shelf if you don’t have a fireplace) is the perfect spot to showcase coastal Christmas decor.
Layer garlands of cedar, pine, or eucalyptus, mixed with white berries or olive branches.

Tuck in white coastal trees, candles, tiny houses, starfish, shells, or sea glass accents for subtle seaside charm.

Finish with candles in glass hurricanes filled with sand or shells, creating a warm glow.

The striped table runner and herb-filled clay pots at each table setting add a beautiful coastal touch.

5. Welcoming coastal Christmas entryway and porch ideas
The first impression of your holiday home begins at the front door.

Hang a coastal-inspired wreath made with eucalyptus, olive branches, or white berries, finished with a ribbon in coastal hues.
Flank the entry with urns holding mini coastal trees, frosted grasses, or white poinsettias

For a festive look, adorn stair railings with garlands, ribbons, and brass bells.
Or, line indoor or outdoor steps with lanterns filled with candles or twinkling lights to create a warm, inviting glow.

6. DIY coastal Christmas touches

If you love to get creative, try making a few DIY coastal holiday decorations. Here are a few ideas:
- A DIY oyster or sea shell garland or ornament.
- Hand-painted driftwood ornaments.
- A beach glass vase filled with fairy lights.
These handmade pieces add a personal, collected feeling to your coastal Christmas decor.
Whether you live by the ocean or simply love the fresh, relaxed vibe of coastal style, adding a few seaside-inspired touches is a beautiful way to celebrate the season.

From coastal Christmas trees and mantels to wreaths, tables, and porches, these ideas will help you create a holiday home that feels warm, welcoming, and filled with seaside charm.

No matter how you choose to decorate for Christmas 2025, I wish you a holiday season and new year filled with joy, love, and a touch of snow on the beach! xo Jane ♥
